Attendance Policy
Attendance
- Attendance is considered mandatory.
- Either attendance will be taken at the beginning of class, or will be reflected by your
participation. From time-to-time you will be required to
complete a worksheet reflecting your understanding of the topics presented that day.
- If you are late, it is your responsibility to have your
attendance properly recorded.
- If you have a documented legitimate reason for missing
class, see the instructor for getting credit for the class
you missed.
- Please, do not ask for credit for a particular class
at a later date.
Homework Policy
Homework
- Homework assignments will be done using MyMathLab.
- All homework assignments are currently available. Once a section
is discussed in class, it will become due the following Monday at midnight.
Therefore, you will always have a weekend to finish. Please understand,
if you are working Monday at midnight, you may loose your work.
- Once the assignment becomes available and until it is
due, you can work on the assignment until it is finished
to your satisfaction. Each problem ca be work multiple times until you
get it correct. Once the assignment is due, the assignment
can no longer be accessed.
- If you are experiencing difficulty with any of the problems,
you are encouraged to get help from the instructor during
his office hours. You are also encouraged to seek help from
the tutors in the
math lab.
- At the beginning of each period, the homework assignment
pertaining to the previous class will be discussed.
- You should plan to spend 2-3 for each class period reading
the lesson, studying your notes, and doing the assigned
homework.
Quiz Policy
Quizzes
- There will be {quiz_policy::number} unannouned quizzes.
- Each quiz will consist of three to five problems from
the recent homework assignments and problems discussed in class.
- There will be no makeup quizzes unless in case of emergency and
the student has documented evidence.
- The lowest {quiz_policy::dropped} quiz score(s) will be dropped.
Exam Policy
Midterm Exam
- The midterm exam will cover the material in chapters 1, 2, and 3.
- There will be no makeup exam unless the student has
received authorization from the instructor
prior to the exam.
Final Exam
- The final exam will cover the material in chapters 8, 4, and 5.
- Each student is required to take the exam at the appointed time.
