IU Northwest is a regional, four-year campus of Indiana University.
There are more than 22,000 alumni in Northwest Indiana who have graduated from IU Northwest; approximately 16,000 who still live and work in Northwest Indiana.
Nearly 5,000 students are enrolled at IU Northwest pursuing one of more than 70 degree programs.
IU Northwest is ranked as one of the most diverse universities in Indiana and the Midwest.

Academics:
IU Northwest hosts Northwest Indiana’s only medical school, the Northwest branch of the IU School of Medicine on its campus.
IU Northwest recently opened the area’s only College of Health and Human Services.
The Masters of Social Work program offers four major concentrations: Mental Health & Addictions; School Social Work; Leadership; and Health.
The Health Information Technology (HIT) program is one of only two accredited programs in Health Information Management (HIM) in Indiana, and the only one in Northwest Indiana.
IU Northwest offers degrees in several other health fields. In addition to Medicine and Nursing, students may pursue studies in Health Information Management, Radiologic Sciences, and Dental Education.
IU Northwest offers pre-professional programs in medicine, law, dentistry, and pharmacy.
The School of Business features a state-of-the-art simulated stock market trading floor that is used to teach finance classes and to promote financial literacy in Northwest Indiana.
The School of Business & Economics offers a Weekend MBA for Professionals program.
IU Northwest has two art galleries that feature nationally-renowned artists and local and student art exhibitions.
The School of Education is the only teacher preparation program in northwest Indiana that prepares students for dual licensure in elementary and special education.
The School of Education has three different kinds of alternative licensure programs; Urban Teacher Education, Transition to Teaching, and a graduate program for initial licensure in Special Education.
The School of Public and Environmental Affairs offers degrees in Criminal Justice, Health Administration, and Public Affairs.
The College of Arts and Sciences offers degree programs in a variety of disciplines in the arts, humanities, and social and behavioral sciences.

A vast majority (85 percent) of IU Northwest professors hold the highest degree (advanced) in their respective fields.
IU Northwest offers Master’s degrees in Business, Education, Social Work and Public Administration.
IU Northwest School of Education is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), the highest accreditation for an education program.
IU Northwest pre-professional programs (pre-med, dentistry, law, pharmacy, etc.) boast a 90% student acceptance rate to professional schools.
The School of Business and Economics runs an Assessment Center, which encourages student development through skill-based assessment.
IU Northwest has an American Association of Colleges and School of Business (AACSB) accreditation for its School of Business and Economics, and only 15% of Business schools in the world hold this honor.
All degree programs of the IU School of Social Work are accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
100% of the first cohort of BA/BS to BSN (second degree) School of Nursing graduates passed their state licensing exams.
