The Community Grants Information Collection is a specialized collection of directories, handbooks, annual reports, magazines, and other materials pertaining to philanthropy, grantsmanship, and nonprofit organizations. Some of the subjects discussed in the resources are:
- foundations
- search strategies
- grant application guidelines
- fundraising techniques
and the types of projects which are funded.
The Collection is located on the first floor of the library on the north wall. Be aware that the materials of the collection do not circulate, nor are the librarians available to do your research for you. The Collection is available for anyone to use, and is particularly geared for the not-for-profit organizations in Northwest Indiana and anyone interested in nonprofit organizations. The collection was created with some financial support from the Inland Steel-Ryerson Foundation in September, 1982. It was provided then, as now, to provide resources to assist the nonprofit organizations in Northwest Indiana apply for funds from donors.
