Application and Selection

Any person who is currently enrolled or engaged in an academic/degree program at Indiana University Northwest may apply to the Institute. Anyone requesting admission in the Leadership Development Program will be sent an application packet. All applications are due on or before June 15 for the fall semester or November 30 for the spring semester. It is strongly recommended that applications be submitted earlier than the deadline if possible.

Each application packet contains the forms and instructions for each individual to complete the following required tasks:

• Submit a completed Application Form.
• Have two individuals submit Recommendation Forms to the Leadership Institute.
• Submit a cover letter stating why the applicant should be selected for the Leadership Institute.

The Executive Director of the Leadership Institute will review and screen all submitted application packets. Individuals with favorable evaluations will be interviewed by a three-person panel consisting of a community leader, an IU Northwest faculty or staff member and Institute's Executive Director. All applicants will receive notice of the results.
