Blossom
Mabon – Merrillville is the
Director of Fund Development for St. Anthony Campus Franciscan
Communities in Crown Point, where she is responsible for writing
grants and coordinating fundraising activities. She is a Senior in
the School of Business and Economics, and expects to receive her
B.S. in Business Administration in May 2007. Blossom has been
married for more than 26 years, and they are the blessed parents of
four sons and five grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with her
grandchildren, singing at church, sewing, playing games, and
volunteering in her spare time. |

Miranda Malinovsky – Chesterton is currently seeking a BS in Elementary Education at
IU Northwest. Miranda serves as a Student Guide and is a member of Indiana Student Education Association. She continually volunteers within these organizations to improve both the campus and the community. Miranda is working at the Hilton Garden Inn in Chesterton and enjoys meeting many new people as a Guest Service Associate. Andre Manzo – East Chicago received a B.A. in Sociology and Communication from
IU Northwest in 1997 and completed his Post Bachelor work in Network Technology and System Analysis in May 2001. Currently, Andre is a Computer Technician at IU Northwest. For over 12 years, he served in the United States Navy both active and reserves where he was an instructor and lead Petty Officer of numerous commands. He has also been an Emergency Medical Technician for a multi-jurisdiction medical service. Andre volunteers as a leader with his credit union and explorer scouts. (Fall 00 / Spring 01) |

Heather Mason – Schererville is the office manager for a Chicago and Northwest Indiana home inspection company. She has held leadership roles on campus such as President and treasurer of the Sociology club. In the past she has volunteered at the Boys and Girls Club as a Smart Kids teacher, Haven
House as a rape victim's advocate, and at United Way. She is a current national member of the American Sociological Association. She received her
BA in Sociology in 2002. Her career objectives include further education, teaching, writing, and heading education programs in low-economic areas. In her free time, Heather enjoys reading, hiking, tennis, pilates, and strength training. (Fall 00 / Spring 01, r08 / 03) |

Jacqueline Mason – Gary graduated in December 2000 with a
BS in Elementary Education. Currently, she teaches the fifth grade at Vohr Elementary School in Gary, Indiana. She has also served in the Lake Station Community Schools, Ambassador Academy in Gary and was Administrator of Spirit of God Accelerated Education (Gary) for eight years. Under her leadership, the school experienced tremendous growth. She served over 300 students and 40 faculty and support staff in her final year as administrator. She has volunteered her time with Girl Scouts, Junior Achievement, Red Cross and PTA. Jackie is the recipient of the Carla Urbain Award for excellence in Girl Scout leadership and the Thanks Badge for service to Drifting Dunes Girl Scout Council. Gregg McCauley – Henderson, NV prior to his relocation to the Las Vegas area he attended IU Northwest while working for Kvaerner Songer Construction, managing multiple properties that he co-owned in the Lake County, IN, area, and actively participated in the local and university communities. He rapidly excelled to elected positions of prestige within the Leadership Development Program obtaining the title of Chairman of the Leadership Council. Within weeks following the 9 / 11 tragedy, Gregg was recruited to take a position as a Program Director with the American Red Cross to assist with their reorganization. He has also served as a member of the Board of Directors for the nationally recognized, non-profit organization, People Helping People of Northwest Indiana. The University of Nevada, Las Vegas, will confer his
BA in Sociology in December of 2003. Gregg is actively searching for the opportunity of a new and increasingly challenging leadership role. His future aspirations include obtaining a

Jennifer
McCollum – Hobart is a
Senior at IUN, pursuing a Bachelor’s in General Studies with a
concentration in Psychology. Presently, Jen works for IUN’s
Occupational Development Program as a Biology tutor. She is a
member of the National Honor Society in Psychology and she holds her
therapeutic foster care license, where she receives training on a
regular basis. |

Ralph McCullers – San Jose, CA received his BS in Biochemistry from Auburn University in 1992. Ralph is the On-Scene Coordinator for the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, in Gary. He is also a guest instructor at the Northwest Indiana Law Enforcement Academy.

Christina McDade – Gary is a
recent graduate and Outstanding Student of the Year (2006) of the
IUN School of Social Work. She is currently an employee with the
Lake County Department of Child Services, in child protection. Although the work is challenging, Christina finds that her faith in
God and her family keep her grounded and a little goofy. In her
spare time she bowls with her mom, brother, and father, is an active
member of the National Association of Social Workers, a servant in
her church, and a volunteer for Chicago Public Radio. |

Eric McGinty – Portage received his
BA in Economics from Grove City College in Pennsylvania and earned his
MBA from IU Northwest in December 1998. Eric is employed at Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Inc. as a pharmaceutical sales representative. Eric resides in Porter, IN with his wife and three

Kim McGowin – Valparaiso has been promoted to an outside sales representative at Waste Management Inc. Kim received her undergraduate degree from Ball State University and will graduate with her MBA in August. She is planning on using her MBA skills to move up the corporate ladder with Waste Management. Kim is becoming involved in some local chamber activities and has a passion for animals. She just moved to Valparaiso and is looking forward to her free time after graduation so she can take Yoga and start agility classes with her dog. (Fall 02 / Spring 03) |

Golean Meadows - Merrillville is a former Assistant Vice President and Support
Manager for Bank of America. She enjoyed a highly successful career
managing an administrative support team. Working as a Loan
Executive for the United Way gave her an opportunity to work with the
community and raise money for a good cause. Golean is committed
to her position as Vice President of the Senior Choir at her church. She is working towards a BA in Business Administration. Currently raising her granddaughter, Golean strives to be a positive
role model. In her spare time, Golean loves to sew and journal

Peggy
Miller – Gary is a
Christian, a single mother, and dedicated family member. She works
for Fiserv Health Care in Chicago, Illinois as a Medical Clams and
Customer Service Supervisor. Peggy has a passion for youth projects
and a love for missionary work, coordinating events and conferences
and fundraising. She has served as a community leader through
outreach programs and missionary groups. She has also instructed
youth in entrepreneurial training through YFCR Learning Center. Peggy is currently pursuing her B.S. degree in Business
Administration. |

Ryan Mistarz – Cedar Lake remains in the area despite his family residing in North Carolina. Ryan is a senior who is majoring in Accounting and pursuing a minor in
Computer Programming. He has been awarded a Special Academic
Scholarship and a High Academic Scholarship for his achievements in
the classroom. Ryan is also co-captain of the IU Northwest
basketball team. He currently works as an
Accountant for Olfhof Homes. Ryan’s career objectives include
receiving a MBA and obtaining his CPA. He
is also intrigued by the possibility of working for a large

Denise Moon – Whiteland owns a business which contracts with physicians to create discharge summaries. She has her

Mark Murdock – Valparaiso is a Registered Nurse working in an adult psychiatric unit and has served on the boards of both the Student Nurses' Association at IU Northwest and the Indiana Association of Student Nurses. He has assisted students in Anatomy and Physiology and Psychology at IU Northwest. He has taught CPR for the American Red Cross and was an Emergency Medical Technician. While a US Marine, he instructed leadership skills and marksmanship. He has volunteered with the Boy Scouts where he has served on the staff of various training courses including Boy Scout Leader Wood Badge. Mark received both the Vigil Honor of the Order of the Arrow and the District Award of Merit. He is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and Psi Chi, the national honor society in psychology. He is an associate member of Sigma Xi, the scientific research society. Melissa Murdock – Valparaiso graduated with her AS in Health
Information Technology in May 2004. She works as an Independent
Consultant for Greenberg and Associates, providing general health
information management services. She is a registered Health
Information Technician. Melissa is currently vice president of the
Student Government and she is active in the Northern Indiana Health

LaToya Neal – Gary formerly LaToya Green, is a pharmaceutical Sales Representative at Eli
Lilly and Company. She received her BA in Business
Administration form IU Northwest in 2003. She is currently
pursuing an MBA form Keller Graduate School of Management. LaToya married Nicolas Neal of the Hammond Police
Department, and has five-year-old son, Eli. LaToya's long
history of volunteer work includes Habitat for Humanity, Hoosiers for
Higher Education, Methodist Hospitals, Gary Neighborhood Services and
Junior Achievement. She has attended the Hugh O'Brien Youth
Leadership Foundation (1995) as well as the National Presidential
Leadership Program in Washington D.C. (1998). She currently
participates in the African-American Women's Forum for Eli Lilly and
company, where she will eventually become a mentor to newly hired

David A. Northern – Gary is the Deputy Director of the Lake County Housing Authority in Illinois. He is a May 2003 graduate of IU Northwest with a
MPA. He has an accounting degree from Ball State, a certificate in housing from the University of Maryland, and a certificate in Public Management from IU Northwest. David's actively a member of Antioch Baptist Church and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and serves on three community focused Boards. He mentors and has coached varsity high school football and track. Willy Okwara - Merrillville is a former branch manager for Nigeria Postal
Service. He also served as the secretary for Ututu Development
Union and is the sole proprietor of Wilibest Cosmetics Products. Presently, Willy is a substitute teacher with the Gary and
Merrillville Community School Corporations. Willy received his
AS in Human Resources Management from the University of Nigeria Nsukka
and his BS in Public Management/Health and Environmental Policy from
IU Northwest in May 2003. Currently, he is pursuing his Master's in
Health Services Administration and Public Management at IU Northwest,
where he is also enrolled in the undergraduate nursing program. Willy's career objectives include pursuing a Master's in Medical
Sciences, a PhD and setting up healthcare consulting and cosmetics
firms. Willy believes in helping to uplift children, youths and

Tokunboh
Olaosebikan – Munster is a Senior studying Chemistry and French. He works as an intern at
Indiana University Northwest School of Medicine. He is Treasurer
for the Biology club and at a point in time was also Secretary for
IU Northwest’s Student Government Association. Tokunboh is also a founding
member of the IU Northwest chapter of Pi Delta Pi, a French honor society. He is also very fluent in Italian. In the future, Tokunboh plans to
attend medical school and eventually open his own private practice. |

Shirlene
Olson – Crown Point is a recent graduate of Indiana University
Northwest and is pursuing her Master in Business Administration. She is an educator in the community, as well as, serves in the
United States Army in the Signal Corp for 16 years. Recent
accomplishments noted Indiana University Northwest Academic Dean’s
list spring 2006, Outstanding Meritorious service during July 2006,
TRADOC Military accreditation for the 100th Div Drill Sergeant
School as their communications expert and planning operations. She
is an academic alumnus on the Texas National Dean’s List. The
communities’ for outstanding humanitarian acts know her for her love
and dedication of service. She is a naturalist interviewer for IUN
Web Streaming Radio. An actress for major annual community shows by
FCC Refugee Production, Mime Troupe Director, soloist, Artist and
United Nation of Dance performer. She enjoys being a military
Master Fitness trainer, Aerobic instructor and currently writing her
novel. |

Geneva Love Osawe – Gary is
is Executive Director of a private out-patient Family Service Agency
and Clinical Supervisor with twenty five years of experience. She
is the chair of the Marital and Family Section of the Professional
Licensing Board and she is an American Red Cross Mental Health Disaster Worker. Geneva received a
BS in Psychology and Sociology from IU Northwest, a MSW from IUPUI, and a Post Master Certificate in System Theory from the Family Institute of Chicago. She is currently pursuing a Masters
Degree in Human Services Administration in SPEA at IU Northwest. Her passion is helping families, and her goal is to open a Family Training Institute. (Fall 01 / Spring 02,

Michael Paulson – Schererville is on a mission of renaissance. While in a transitional phase of his life, Michael aspires to develop, through the Leadership Program, skills to objectively evaluate life's social, political, and economic challenges. He spent twenty-four productive years as a staff accountant with supervisory responsibilities for a machine tool builder in Chicago, Illinois. Dave Payne – LaPorte is the Quality Process Coordinator for Roll Coater, Inc. in Kingsbury. He has coordinated the implementation of successful quality systems at four steel coil-coating facilities. Dave received a
BA in Liberal Studies from Purdue University North Central in 1999 and is pursuing his
MBA. He is a single parent of two boys, a member of Kiwanis, and a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteer in LaPorte County. (Spring / Fall 01) |

Peggy Payonk - Hammond completed her
MSW in May 2000. Peggy is employed at Southlake Center for Mental Health as a Therapist in the Placement Diversion Program and teaches sociology and social work courses part-time at Purdue University. Peggy is also on the Advisory Board for the Social Work Department. She is active on a committee to develop a program of public service for the Social Work alumni. Peggy also serves as a mentor in the McNair Research Program at

Pedroza – Lake
Station works in the Precision Bearing Division of McGill Manufacturing
located in Valparaiso. In addition to his primary duties, he serves
on the company’s Audit Committee. He is currently pursuing his

Pedroza – Lake
Station is the
Executive Assistant to the Administrator and Board of Directors at
St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart. She is also a commissioned
notary public for the State of Indiana. She is currently pursuing a
degree in General Studies with plans to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree
in Health Administration. In her spare time, Teresa enjoys spending
time with her husband and three children. |

Damian Perkins – Highland was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland and
currently resides in Highland, Indiana. He is a graduate of
Northwestern University with a BS in Education & Economics and a
graduate of Indiana University Northwest with a Masters of Business
Administration. While at Northwestern Damian played inter-collegiate
baseball for the Wildcats and continues to play today. Damian is a
student of the martial arts where he holds a black belt in Tae Kwon
Do. Damian’s passion for athletics moved him to become a sports
official. Damian is licensed to officiate high school, NCAA, Pro-AM,
IBL, CBA, NBA & WNBA contest in football and basketball. He will be a
full-time IBL basketball official for the 2006 season. Damian is an
avid traveler and has studied abroad in Costa Rica & Panama. His
travels to Costa Rica enabled him the opportunity to become a silent
owner/investor in Casino Paradisio. He sits on the local Junior
Achievement board and is actively involved in teaching the program’s
curriculum of free enterprise, business & economics to local
elementary and grammar school students. Damian has also volunteered
for several local organizations & events such as the Junior Olympics,
the Puerto Rican Parade & Pageant, Boys & Girls Club and the Methodist
Hospitals World Asthma Day Events. Damian has been employed in the
pharmaceutical industry for the last 8 years and currently works as a
Senior respiratory specialist for Merck & Co. pharmaceuticals covering

Cathy Perez - East Chicago graduated in December 1999 with a Bachelor in General Studies. She has been accepted into the
MBA Program. Cathy has been employed at Inland Ispat for 23 years as an Internal Auditor and the Coordinator of the Presidential Mixed Steel Review. In addition to her duties, she is also now serving as a Chemist. She is a member of the Roxanna Civic Center and volunteers her time to the St. John the Baptist Church and School, the Home Schooling Association and the Boy Scout's of America. Jill Pietroski – Greenfield received an Associate Degree in Allied Health in Health Information Technology in May 2002 from IU Northwest, and holds an
AS in Health Office Administration from Purdue University. Jill currently is employed at Hancock Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Systems as a Registered Health Information Technician. She is a member of the American, Indiana, and Central Indiana Health Information Management Association. She graduated from IUPUI in May 2003 with a BS in Health Information Administration. Daniel
Plath – Westville is a
Drinking Water Field Inspector with the Indiana Department of
Environmental Management based out of the Northern Regional Office
in St. Joseph County. He graduated from Indiana University South
Bend in 1998 with a B.S. in Public Affairs with a concentration in
Environmental Policy through SPEA. He was given the IDEM
Commissioner’s Award for Environmental Excellence in 2002 for his
outstanding efforts ensuring the quality of Indiana’s drinking
water. In August 2006 he graduated with a Master’s of Public
Administration with and Environmental Policy concentration through
SPEA. He was given the Outstanding Graduate Student Award for SPEA
after completing the program with a 4.0 GPA. Dan is the President
of the IUSB Chapter of Pi Alpha Alpha National Honor Society for
Public Affairs and Administration. In 2006, Dan became a member of
the Executive Board of the Shirley Heinze Land Trust, which helps
preserve many properties in Northwest Indiana that contain fragile
ecosystems. In his spare time, Dan enjoys studying history,
fishing, kayaking, skiing, and boating on the Great Lakes with his
wife, Vicky. A major goal of Dan’s is to continue to protect the
environment of Northern Indiana, especially the Lake Michigan
coastline. |

Janel
Polster - Highland is the IS Manager
at Fast Lane foods, Inc. She has been married for 17 years and
has two children, Cassi and Kyle. In May 2005, Janel graduated
with honors and received her AA in Business Management. She has served on the Dean's Advisory Board, the Student Government
and enjoys participating in various volunteer activities. Janel
intends to pursue her BA, starting this fall, in
Business Management. Janel has been awarded the Wanda Dudzik Scholarship
(2001-2005), an IU Northwest High Academic
Scholarship for the 2003-2004 academic year, the George Uzelac and
Associates, Inc Scholarship (2005-2006) and the James and Betty Dye
Scholarship (2005-2006). She has been on both the IU Northwest's

Kathy Ponds – Gary is a registered nurse currently working in Critical Care at St. Catherine Hospital. She is also employed part-time for Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago, IL in Neuro-Science. Kathy has her
BS in Accounting and her AS in Nursing. She has participated in the Christmas in April Project, on the United Way Allocation Committee and the IU Northwest Technology Committee. Josh Powers – Crown Point is in his final four classes of the MBA program at IU Northwest. He graduated with distinction from IU Northwest with a BS in Business
Administration and a double minor in Marketing and Finance. Josh would
like to work in government or human resources. His hobbies
include marathon running and ultra-marathoning, and he is looking into

System. Rachel is a member of the First Christian Church where
