Alex da Silva – Gary graduated in May 2000 with a
MPA. He is currently employed at Indiana Department of Environmental Management. Alex enjoys camping and traveling with his wife and daughter. He has been a member of the Board of Directors for the Northwest Indiana Brownfield Redevelopment Corporation. Sallie Davis – East Chicago is the Associate Director of the Audiovisual, Circulation and Technical Services Departments for the East Chicago Public Library. She has a BS in Elementary Education and an MS in Library Science, both from IU Northwest. She is president of the School Corporation Board and past president of her church choir. She is a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Women's Improvement Club, African Americans United and is active in the East Chicago Education Foundation and Community In Schools Inc., serving as a Board Director for both organizations. Sallie was also elected Vice Chair / Chair Elect to the Indiana Library Federation Middle Managers Division for 2003-04 and 2004-05. (Fall 02 / Spring 03) |

Sandra Davis - Schererville received her
AA in August 2000 in Business Administration. She is employed at Northern Indiana Public Service Company in the Human Resources Dept. Sandra has been a key person in the implementation of a Builder / Developer Dept., the Center View Newsletter and a program that will assist customers in finding top quality contractors when looking to replace their heating, ventilation and air-conditioning equipment. Tammi Davis - Gary is the Compliance Officer for the Gary Sanitary District
and the City of Gary. She owns her own consulting business,
Compliance Consultants. Tammi the President of the National
Association for the Advancement of Colored People and a board member
of the League of Women Voter's Calumet Region Chapter. In her
spare time, she enjoys going to the opera, seeing various plays and
reading. Tammi received her MPA from IU Northwest
in May of 2003. Her future plans include pursuing a law degree

Regina
Demeter — Crown Point received her BS in Health
Management with honors in 2005. She also holds an AS degree in
Radiologic Technology from the University of Evansville. Her work
experience includes positions as a diagnostic radiographer, CT
technologist, and CT Manager within the hospital, clinic, and office
environments. Prior to her return to academia, Regina took time to
raise her two children. During this time, she was actively involved in
the community directing most of her volunteer efforts towards her
children’s education and sports organizations. Regina, as an IU Northwest
student, earned academic status on the Dean’s List, the National
Dean’s List, Pi Alpha Alpha, and received High Academic Scholarships.
She served as a steering committee member for the IU Northwest
Community / Habitat for Humanity Gary Build, Habitat for Humanity
volunteer, Institute for Innovative Leadership Fundraising Event
Co-chair, a proactive volunteer for numerous community events, and
received the Brass Ring and Networking Awards from the Institute for
Innovative Leadership. Regina is currently working part time marketing
the Institute for Leadership’s Skill Building Workshops while pursuing

Jackie Dooley - Crown Point was
voted in as President of the Health Information Technology Club at
IU Northwest for 2002-2003. She is an honor student and made the Dean’s List for the
2001-2002 school year. She received her Associate’s in Health information
Technology in May 2003 and graduated in May 2004 with her BS in
Health Services Management Registered Health Information Technician
(RHIT). Jackie passed the RHIT exam and will receive her official
license of RHIT from the American Health Information Management
Association. She works as an insurance claims processor at JP Farley
Corporation. Jackie was awarded the Nontraditional Student Scholarship for
2003-2004 and the Porter County Extension Homemakers Scholarship for
2003. Jackie has two girls, Faith and Rachel. (Fall 02 / Spring

Gaylin
Dorris – Gary graduated in May 2005 with a Master’s in
Business Administration. Gaylin has a BS in General Business with a
minor in Computer Information Systems. She is currently employed at
IU Northwest as the System Administrator. With fifteen years of
military experience, Gaylin has held many leadership roles. Her
future goal is to become a Manager in Information Technology while
leading others to grow and develop their skills in the computer
field. Becoming a community leader is also one of Gaylin’s future
goals. In addition, she enjoys spending time with her husband of 17
years and her two daughters. |

Patty Dunham – Highland is a Sr. Product Manager at the corporate offices of FTD, Inc. Her responsibilities include designing exclusive product lines and gift items for distribution to 20,000+ florist. Her position requires extensive travel in the US, China, Belgium and Thailand. Patty is a founding member of the Chicago Merchandise Mart Advisory Board and serves on the Board of the Dallas Gift Mart. She will complete her MBA at IU Northwest spring 2004. Patty is active in her church, volunteers on the Highland Park Board and is co-founder of "Circle of Friends" a support group for single women. She is remarried and has two daughters. Constance El-Amin – East Chicago is a head teacher at Harrison Elementary School in East Chicago, IN. She currently serves as coordinator of the Science Fair and Science Olympiad, School Wide Improvement Planning Committee, and a judge for the Northwest Regional Science Fair. Constance has also organized and implemented the school's current discipline plan and has written and received several educational grants. She is active in her church. Constance is serving her second term as president of the
Northwest Indiana Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa. She has received numerous awards with her most cherished being the student nominated "Inspire Award." Constance has a BS from Purdue, and a Masters from IU. Having earned her Administrative License, she plans to pursue her PhD in Staff Development. (Spring / Fall 02) |

Beth Eldridge – Crown Point graduated in May 2002 with her Masters in Social Work. After seven years working for the Lake County Juvenile Center, she is now working as the Community Director for the March of Dimes Northwest Region Office. Beth is also working as a research assistant on a study being conducted by IU Northwest and the Community Outreach Partnership Center (COPC). Beth is the past Vice President Phi Alpha Honor Society for graduate social work students and a current member of the National Association of Social Workers. Beth plans to begin her Doctorate in Social Work focusing on Research and Legislative Policy this fall. Ashley Estes – Valparaiso is a December 2001 graduate of IU Northwest. She received her BA in English with a minor in Women's Studies. She has been a staff writer for two university newspapers and now serves as copy editor for IU Northwest's student newspaper, the Northwest Phoenix. Ashley is employed at
IU Northwest where she is currently the Secretary for the Psychology

Sharon Franzen – Highland is employed at St. Margaret Mercy Healthcare as a full time social worker. She graduated in May 2001 with a Masters in Social Work. She is a member of ICADDA, NASW and an active member of the First United Methodist Church. She is a corporate officer and operations manager of three family businesses in the Hammond area. Her businesses will be expanding into Merrillville soon. (Spring / Fall 00) |

Taneya Fuller – Gary graduated from IU Northwest in May 2002 with a
BA in Business Administration. She is working towards her MBA from IU Northwest. Her career objective is to own a chain of Child Care Centers and to become the founder of an orphanage and foster home. Taneya loves working with children and spending time with her family. Currently, she is an Administrative Assistant and Computer Director for ELKA Child Educational Center, Inc. Taneya is involved with Junior Achievement, enjoys singing in the choir, and being the director of the children's ministry at her church. (Spring 01 / Spring 02) |

Dominic Gagliardi – Highland is a Program Analyst with the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of the Inspector General
(OIG), Audit Division in Chicago. He was selected as a
participant in the OIG's inaugural Leadership Development Program, an
intensive nine month program that involves various postings and
training throughout the US. Dominic is currently working as a
Program Manager at OIG Audit Headquarters in Washington, DC, on
various projects underway throughout the Division. He and his
wife, Beth, hope to soon begin building a horse boarding and training
facility on 20 acres of property they own in Hobart. Dominic
received his MPA in May 2001 and his BA in December 1992, both from IU Northwest. He is a former officer with the Highland Police
Department and former IU Northwest Student Government Association
President. Dominic competed the 2004 Chicago Marathon an is
currently training for the 2005 Marine Corps Marathon in Washington,

Bryann Gibson – Merrillville is seeking a degree in accounting. He is also an independent representative for Pre-Paid Legal Services. In addition, this former audit clerk and high school treasurer frequently speaks at his church. He plans to combine these interests by organizing and conducting motivational seminars on financial matters.

Jesus Gonzalez – Portage is going through a transitional phase of his life. His aspirations are to utilize his vast experiences in business and industry to help improve the quality of life in Northwest Indiana. Some of his leadership roles include District Manager of 33 inner city stores for Sunglass Hut International, District Manager of 16 stores in the Miami and Los Angeles markets for J. Baker, Inc. and SAP Data Coordinator for LTV Steel. Jesus
volunteers his time to the Calumet Project by giving Labor Day speeches at local churches throughout Northwest Indiana. He is working toward his
BA in Labor Studies and plans to use this degree to achieve his ultimate goal of attending law school. (Fall 01 / Spring 02) |

Darlene Goss - Gary is a Health Care Administration major and expects to graduate in 2002. Darlene works for the Methodist Hospitals, Inc. in Gary as the Service Activity Manager / Administrative Secretary. She is extremely active at New Bethel Church and presently serves as the President of the Ushers' Ministry. She has served as Vacation Bible School teacher and Acting Superintendent for the Sunday School. Darlene has volunteered for the Special Olympics and as a Big Sister Mentor. (Spring / Fall 99) |

Laura Graves – Valparaiso has a degree in Sociology and plans to continue her education. Laura is an editor for her husband who is an outdoor sports writer. Most recently they appeared on the television show Raghorn News featuring her outdoor recipe. Laura enjoys gourmet cooking, reading, and herbal gardening. Her passion for the outdoors includes hiking, camping, long distance bicycling, fly-fishing and campfire cooking. Her goals include to someday publish a cookbook for the great outdoors, and to co-write with her husband for the great outdoors. (Spring / Fall 01) |

Lisa Gray – Crown
Point is the office manager and chiropractic assistant at Gerstenkorn Family Chiropractic in Cedar Lake. She is a member of the Student Guide Services here at IU Northwest and the PTO at Lake Central High School where her daughter attends. She is pursuing her
BS in Business with an Accounting concentration. Her future plans include owning a successful business. (Fall 01 / Fall 02) |

Jill Greening – Crown Point is currently the
Assistant Manager at 1st Source Bank in Valparaiso. She began
her career as a teller in 2000 and has been consistently climbing the
corporate ladder ever since. She was also one of the first
people chosen out of 60 banking centers to go through the 1st Source
Bank Management Trainee Program so that she can run her own branch in
the near future. In the evenings, Jill has also been attending
IU Northwest in order to complete her BA in Business Administration. In her spare time, Jill loves to have fun with everything, especially
while spending time with her husband and their children - two dogs and
three cats, as well as being an Independent Beauty Consultant for Mary
Kay Inc. Jill has participated in or volunteered for various
organizations over the years such as the IU Northwest's Institute for
Innovative Leadership, Lupus Foundation of America, Real Life
community Church, the Humane Society of America, the Independent Cat
Society as well as being an advocate for the elderly. (Spring

Brenda Grey – Gary is a school nurse for the Gary Community School Corporation and the Director of Nursing at St. Catherine's Hospital in East Chicago. Brenda is involved in various community projects which include participating in a marathon for the Leukemia Society, Cancer Society programs, Habitat for Humanities project, Board member for The Linden House, and the free cancer-screening program at St. Catherine Hospital. Brenda was formerly an adjunct faculty member for IU Northwest
in the Nursing Division. Most recently, she completed a half marathon in Indianapolis, IN. (Spring / Fall 01, r08 / 05) |

John Gunn – Gary graduated in December 2003 with a degree in Anthropology and in
May 2004 with a degree in African American Studies with a minor in
Sociology. He is enrolled in the SPEA working toward a Masters degree with
concentrations in Administration and Management. John is a
former Air traffic Controller with the Federal Aviation Administration
and he worked at the TRACON at Logan International Airport. He
is a former District Manager for the Richardson Information and
Education Center in Maryland. John is founder, owner and editor
of IFA news, a monthly cultural newsletter. He is a former
member for the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Arts Exchange; poetry
review critic for Club Kummba; literary consultant on several
Afrocentric publications; active in the IU Northwest Black Student
Union, Student Government Association, and Student Advisory Council. John recently was awarded the Graphic Design Award for work on the
brochure and book, Mid-town: The Historic African American
Community - Gary, Indiana. John is involved in activism in the
areas of racial sensitivity, civic engagement, adjustments for
disabled students, improved campus administrative culture,
accountability as a student-centered campus and student rights. (Spring 02 / Fall 03, r08 / 05) |

Jennifer Guziewicz - Valparaiso teaches business and entrepreneurship courses for IU Northwest and
Leadership at Valparaiso University. She is doing private
consulting through her new company, JPG Small Business Consulting. This new venture allows Jennifer to maintain ties to the business
community, while taking a ore active role in business and economic
