Thandabantu Iverson coordinates credit offerings for the Northwest campus as well as the Labor History programming with area unions. His primary research and teaching focus is the examination of the connections between the oppressions of race, class, gender, and sexuality in the experience and resistance of workers. Prior to coming to Indiana University, Thandabantu served as a Health and Safety Organizer with the Southern Regional Office of the International Staff of the Service Employees' International Union (SEIU). Thandabantu also has been active within several industries, trade unions, and community-labor organizations including the United Steelworkers of America (USWA), the United Auto Workers (UAW), the United Mineworkers of America (UMWA), and the Black Workers for Justice (BWFJ). Thandabantu teaches a variety of courses bridging his academic interests in Political Science, Feminist Theory, and Labor Studies.
