(Part Time) Athletic Trainer - Dept. of Student Life and Athletics IU Northwest is seeking a Part-Time Athletic Trainer to work with Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Women’s Volleyball, and Men’s Baseball teams. The Athletic Trainer will assist the IU Northwest Department of Student Life and Athletics in the prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries to our athletes and patrons. This individual is expected to be the first health care provider on the scene when injuries occur and therefore must be able to recognize, evaluate, and assess injuries and provide immediate care when needed. This is a position that is heavily involved in the rehabilitation and reconditioning of injuries to our athletes. The ideal candidate will be able to provide and supervise strength and conditioning programs for the athletes and teams. The Athletic Trainer will be required to be present and available on the IU Northwest campus during all mandatory team practices and home sporting events. These are typically scheduled Monday-Friday in the evenings between the hours of 3pm -10pm. Some weekends and travel may be required. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in an athletic training program from an accredited college or university is required; a master’s degree preferred. Athletic trainers must be licensed or registered with certification from the Board of Certification, Inc. (BOC). Successful candidate should have excellent social and communication skills; ability to manage difficult situations and the stress associated with them. This person should be organized, able to manage time wisely, be inquisitive, and have a strong desire to help people.
