Director - Division of Social Work 

The Director is responsible for the overall administration and management of the Division of Social Work at the IU Northwest Campus. In this capacity, the Director has responsibilities to the Dean of the College of Health and Human Services, the Dean of the School of Social Work, and the Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs at IU Northwest.  

This is a twelve-month, tenure-track position with appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or above, beginning July 1, 2008. Salary is commensurate with experience. The administrative appointment is renewable at the end of the initial three-year period. The position carries a teaching requirement of one course per semester. 

Qualifications: The qualified candidate must have a Master degree in Social Work and a Doctorate in Social Work or related field. The candidate must be tenureable at the Associate or Full Professor level. She/he must have a minimum of three years, full-time, post MSW practice experience; a record of successful research, teaching, and administration at the graduate and undergraduate levels; command of CSWE accreditation standards; demonstration of excellence in public relations; excellent written and oral communications, and demonstration of skills in curriculum development and academic monitoring and evaluation. Grant writing experience is desirable.

The IU School of Social Work began in 1911 and is the oldest university affiliated social work program in the nation. The School of Social Work operates on seven of eight IU campuses and offers the BSW, MSW, and Ph.D. in Social Work and the AS and BS in Labor Studies. The Labor Studies Program, while in the School of Social Work, is a separate unit on the IU Northwest campus.
