Internships
- An internship is a valuable experience for the student. With an internship, you can earn money while you learn and finally get back some of the money you have spent on your education.
- Besides receiving money, you receive college credit. Up to 6 internship credit hours can be applied toward the CIS BS degree or the PBC.
- You do not receive a letter grade, it is pass/fail only.
- Most of all, it gives you an opportunity to get real-world experience.
- You meet people who give you tips and become valuable when you need references.
- Besides, it looks great on a resume.
- Read on to find out exactly who is eligible and how you can get involved.
- Baccalaureate students who are enrolled in Division of Arts and Sciences and accepted into the CIS Department have first priority.
- Students must be in good academic standing.
- Students seeking the department's Associate degree, a minor in CIS or the PBC are also eligible.
- Look for a suitable internship.
- The CIS Department has a list of currently available internships.
- If there is nothing that appeals to you, talk to the Coordinator and explain what your interests are.
- Register for CSCI Y398 or COAS W398 Internship in Professional Practice.
- During the internship, you will be required to turn in all required documentation (progress reports, supervisor evaluations, etc).
- All documents must be properly signed and total hours of work certified.
