  1. Meeting minutes from January were accepted as read with the following correction: Bill Dorin was present at the meeting.
  2. Security in classrooms: According to Terry Lukas and Mark Uncapher, several small acts of vandalism or theft in the computer classrooms occur each semester. Mark estimated losses to be at approximately $100 per semester.  It was noted that total value of electronics in some of these classrooms is approximately $250,000. Additionally, the recent bomb threat in Marram was associated with someone who was using the Marram STC. Various means of securing both the classrooms and the STC's were discussed. Guidelines for renewing Cipher codes and using codes need to be developed.
  3. Action items:
    1. Bert Scott will place topic of appropriate usage of Cipher Codes and renewal policy on agenda for next Computer Committee meeting.
    2. Mark Uncapher will work with Kristy to implement an effective sign-in sheet for users of STC's that will allow tracking of presence of specific users.
  4. Technology Plan: copy is on IT website.
  5. Computer software build information: Word Perfect 2000 will not be on STC or classroom builds. IT will not be purchasing upgrades for current licenses. It is recommended that Web docs in Word Perfect be converted to MS Word.
