Course Description

Prerequisite: GEOL G221. Structural classification, description, identification, association, occurrence, and use of common and important silicate minerals. Igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks: composition, characteristics, classification, and origin. Introduction to use of petrographic microscope. Two lectures and one laboratory each week. (Spring).
