Welcome

Indiana University Northwest is one of the 10 universities nationwide that received a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to establish an Environmental Justice Resource Center. While not a legal clinic, the center will help municipalities like East Chicago, Gary, and Hammond to educate residents about the pollution in their communities. Local residents can easily learn about the environmental hazards in their communities. At this new Resource Center , they will be able to determine the air and water quality in their neighborhoods and compare it with other areas locally and throughout the country.

In addition to making federal information resources available, the center will connect local groups with national agencies that are investigating similar environmental concerns.
