Why Minimize Hazardous Waste?

SARA

SARA, or Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act, is the primary means for reporting hazardous chemical usage to the government. EH&S coordinates the SARA initiative for the Indiana University Northwest campus.

Stormwater Quality Management Plan (SWQMP)

Stormwater is rain or snow melt which has run off the land including hard, “impervious” surfaces like roads, roofs and car parks.  The SWQMP outlines Indiana University’s commitments to implementing minimum control measures and best management practices in order to have as little of an impact on the environment as possible.  More information about Indiana University's commitment can be found at http://www.ehs.indiana.edu/water.shtml.
