Welcome to my site!

Hello, my name is Tim Mitchell. I am the Director of Student Teaching and Field Placements at the School of Education. As such, it is my responsibility to find the student teaching and field placements for our students in the public school systems and to oversee these programs. I am on faculty at IU Northwest as a clinical instructor and teach classes in Classroom Management and other subjects.

I started my education experiences as a police officer. I taught the D.A.R.E. program for two years along with the Officer Friendly Program. I am a graduate of Purdue Calumet, receiving my B.A. Degree (Elementary Education) in 1995 and my Master’s Degree (Educational Administration) in 2001. I have taught in the public school system and have also been an administrator.
