Indiana University Northwest: Assistant Professor of Education. I teach integration of technology into P-12 subject areas to pre-service and in-service teachers through implementation of state-of-the-art educational technologies, including Web page design; media literacy; use of Microsoft Office Suite, Inspiration, and other educational software in a P-12 setting; use of digital cameras and handhelds; creation of podcasts, vodcasts, wikis and blogs; and digital video and graphics creation and editing. My teaching includes both traditional and online undergraduate and graduate-level classes, and I also advise undergraduate and graduate students, as well as Master’s students writing the thesis.
At IUN, I serve as the Coordinator and Field Supervisor for the Early Childhood Program, and teach a graduate class (Race, Class and Gender Issues in Education) with a Service-Learning component. Additional class development and teaching include a graduate level Advanced Educational Technology course, and an online Children’s Literature course.
Grand Valley State University: I taught an undergraduate technology integration course to pre-service teachers, and developed and shared the online version of this course with colleagues. I supervised Masters students’ theses, and developed and taught graduate instructional technology courses.
At Baker College (Instructor of Information & Professional Development Systems) and Muskegon Community College (Instructor of Computer Information Systems), I designed and conducted comprehensive, multi-level training courses in information systems and computer application courses for introductory, intermediate, and advanced students.

Managed all operations of a desktop publishing, training, and Web page design consulting business. As an independent consultant for Michigan Virtual High School and the University of California College Prep Initiative, I helped lay the groundwork for programs by developing online courses, training instructors in facilitation pedagogies, mentoring new hires, and teaching classes in Business, English, Social Sciences and Technology.
- Served as key advisor during Western Michigan University’s conversion of the College of Education’s Graduate Certificate program into an online format.
- Assisted in creation of an online course evaluation instrument for the State of Michigan’s Department of Education.
- Trained and supported secondary teachers new to online teaching, and managed the Faculty Forum as a virtual information exchange, training area and support site for UCCP teachers.
