Dr. Dana H. Dodson is a visiting professor of mathematics education and teaches F200, math methods courses, and university supervisor for 6 student teachers each semester.  Dr. Dodson has her M.S. and Ed.D. from The University of Houston.  Both of her graduate education degrees have focused on Curriculum and Mathematics.  Dr. Dodson has been teaching part-time and full-time since starting her doctorate coursework in 1987 as such locations as:  San Jacinto College (east of Houston, TX), University of Houston, Brazosport College (Lake Jackson, TX), Brazosport Christian School, Brazoswood High School, Waubonsee Community College (Aurora, IL), University of St. Francis (Joilet, IL), College of DuPage (Glen Ellyn, IL), and Scott High School (Taylor Mill, KY).

Dr. Dodson’s undergraduate degree is in Chemical Engineering from The University of Texas (Austin, TX).  Dr. Dodson worked for Monsanto (Chocolate Bayou, TX) supporting the ethylene plant as a Process Engineer and for Dow Chemical Company (Lake Jackson, TX) as a Production Engineer in their glycol plant.  Unable to find a babysitter at 2 a.m. when her plant engineering responsibilities would be ringing, Dr. Dodson switched careers from Engineering to Education.  Dr. Dodson received her certification as a Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Texas.

This web site includes a collection of syllabi for the courses Dr. Dodson has been assigned to teach.  As a Progressivist, Dr. Dodson guarantees this site to be under construction!  If you have questions, please bring them up in class or in your journal.  Dr. Dodson is tickled to be teaching for IUN and is here to help you be the best teacher you can be.  Her door is always open and Dr. Dodson looks forward to an exciting semester sharing her passion for mathematics and education with you.
