Tracking your budget expenditures Your award letter gave you specific instructions and a detailed description of how your award can be spent. You must follow these guidelines and only make purchases that have been approved. If you have any questions regarding whether an item can be paid for with your award, please contact us before the purchase is made. It is your responsibility to keep copies of all receipts and purchase orders so that you will have an accurate account of your expenditures. Fellows are expected to both spend their funds in the time allotted and to not overspend in any line item of their budget. You were awarded funds for various parts of your project at various amounts. Permission must be obtained before you make any changes to the amount of any line item.
