The research materials of Dr. James W. Lewis constitute this collection. The files were gathered by Dr. Lewis during research for his book, The Protestant Experience in Gary, Indiana, 1906-1975: At Home in the City. The following inventory duplicates the folder titles used by Dr. Lewis. All of the items are photocopies, collected by Dr. Lewis from the archives at DePauw University, the First Presbyterian Church in Gary, and the Calumet Regional Archives at Indiana University Northwest.
