Newsclippings constitute the largest series in this collection, describing the sports career of Dr. Joseph Kopcha, a former All-Pro guard for the Chicago Bears Football Club in the 1930s, the clippings also describe the many community activities performed by Dr. Kopcha. Community events also provide the focus for most of the photographs in the collection, events which included a number of local sports figures.

Researchers should note that additional materials about Joseph Kopcha are held by the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, USA.
