Service-Learning Course Assessment Faculty Fellowship* s-l

CETL is pleased to announce the six recipients for Service-Learning Course Assessment Faculty Fellowship. After receiving applications more than our pool, the screening members reviewed each application based upon the fellowship rubric and no exposure of name, position, and affiliation. The six recipients are awarded ($1,250 each) to support faculty as they assess the impact of Service-Learning in an existing course or a newly developed course that includes a Service-Learning component. The recipients are the following (order of last name):

Subir Bandyopadhyay (School of Business and Economics)
Judy Donovan (School of Education)
Samuel Flint (School of Public and Environmental Affairs)
Helen Harmon (School of Business and Economics)
Mary Pflugshaupt (English, School of Arts and Sciences)
Raj Selladurai (School of Business and Economics)

Recipients may also be asked to present their work at a CETL event.

* These Fellowships have been funded through the Center for Regional Excellence / Lilly Opportunity Grant.

The proposal of course assessment report should be stated in relation to the following:

  • How you will assess the impact of Service-Learning (S-L) on your teaching
  • How you will assess any changes you have made in your pedagogy to accommodate diversity relative to a S-L component
  • How S-L has affected your students' learning and response to diversity in a course which has a SL component.

Application Process

If interested, submit the application form to Ju Park ( park49@iun.edu ; Coordinator of S-L) by TBA. The recipients will be notified by TBA

Applications will be evaluated based on the Evaluation Rubric
