- Summer Intern – Headquarters Security
- The U. S. Steel Student Employment Program has been designed for the student actively seeking a Bachelor’s degree in a Security, Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice related field. The program provides the student with the opportunity to gain meaningful “hands on” work experience in the Security & Fire Department within a Fortune 500 Company. This position would require the student to work full-time (40 hours per week) during the summer. The candidate will support the Headquarters Security & Fire staff in the daily operations to include but not be limited to:
- Assist in the development and delivery of Security & Fire Services training.
- Standardize the base physical security protection model deployed within domestic operations.
- Develop and implement best practices.
- Emergency management.
- Engineering support.
- Publishing corporate security standards and policies.
- Verify corporate compliance with Local, State and Federal Law.

If your school has a program that permits the granting of credits for this work experience, arrangements may be made to accommodate this by agreement between your Academic Advisor and U. S. Steel. Candidates must be a full-time, degree-seeking student enrolled in Security, Law Enforcement, security
related degree. Candidates must have completed or be working towards completion of their sophomore year and be in good
academic standing. Candidates must be willing to work 40 hours a week beginning in May 2008 and ending in August 2008. You must continue to maintain an acceptable grade point average while participating in the program.
Candidates will be required to submit to a background check and may be required to obtain a security clearance.
