Job Title:
Intern – Assistant Manager

• Responsibilities:
  • As an Assistant Manager - Intern, you will be expected to do the following:
    • Work as a part of the Restaurant Management team and possess excellent interpersonal / communication skills.
    • Assist with the management of  all controllable expenses (such as food, labor, and other general expenses).
    • Manage, motivate and lead various staff members so that you maximize retention and create job satisfaction for all staff members.
    • Promote a team environment that motivates staff members to provide superior service.
    • Provide proper training and development to ensure compliance with company standards.
    • Ensure proper execution of company operating policies and procedures.
    • Ensures Occupational Safety & Health Act, local health and safety codes, and company safety and security policy are met.
    • Ensures company standards on equipment, facility, and grounds are maintained by using a preventative maintenance program.
    • Maintaining fast, accurate service, positive guest relations, and ensuring products are consistent with company quality standards.
    • Monitor inventory levels to ensure product availability as well as order products as needed.
    • Perform all other job-related duties that may be assigned.
• Compensation:
  • This is an hourly position and compensation is based on ability and experience.  The position is part time and hours are flexible. We are proud to work with staff to accommodate their school schedules.
• Department: Main Floor
• Reports To: Restaurant Assistant Manager

We are a casual upscale family dining full service Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria, with a 65 year history and following, offering dine-in, carry-out, and delivery service in Whiting, Indiana. We are the Original John's Restaurant and Pizzeria that was established in 1943 in Calumet City, Illinois. We are looking for energetic, outgoing individuals that want to grow with our company. We are currently seeking motivated individuals with excellent interpersonal / communication skills and the ability to work together as team members to provide superior service. This position is for our Whiting, Indiana location.
