Job Description:
Consuella’s Accounting & Tax Service is looking to fill several Sales / Marketing internship positions. This is an opportunity of a life time to the right energetic self motivated candidate(s). We are designing and launching a new service. Intern(s) have the opportunity to play an important role in the conception and implementation of this and various projects with substantial income potential. - Internship Description -
Responsibilities included, but are not limited to assisting with and / or managing the following duties:
- Sales:
- Assist sales staff in identifying new customer leads and prospecting list.
- Call and visit prospective clients and follow up.
- Maintain / Succeed Sales goals.
- Act as communication liaison for various members of the firm, from the sales and marketing group, to all levels of internal and external clientele.
- Send out solicitation and newsletters daily / weekly.
- Attend networking and community events.
- Help coordinate, plan and supervise community events.
- Establish report and relationship with community businesses and officials.
- Create and update daily, weekly, and monthly sales and traffic reports as needed.
- Marketing / Advertisement:
- Assist with putting together 2007-2008 advertising portfolio.
- Brainstorming ideas for proposals.
- Develop marketing plan to create new market niche for company.
- Understand and apply appropriate editorial standards depending on the project, target audience, and objectives for the message.
- Create and process documents (such as brochures, mailers, etc) as needed at assist with marketing efforts.
- Assist in marketing efforts including mail, email and fax campaigns.
- Redesign database system to generate comprehensive timely reports.
- Maintain and cross-reference internal database to ensure up to date and accurate client and prospect information.
- Design, order and maintain supply stock of give a-ways and thank you tokens.
- Circulate marketing materials with in marketing area in a timely fashion.
- Website:
- Maintain and oversee the website.
- Manage links and test websites at all stages of development for errors and functionality.
- Also make suggestions for improvement.
- Submit link requests to directories, other websites, and blogs.
- Building and maintaining community sites.
- Research and verify product links.
- Other Duties:
- Limited general clerical duties - Support Director of Marketing and the marketing team with filing, faxing, photocopying and other special projects as needed.
- Do errands and other tasks as required.
- Keeping office in a clean and orderly fashion.

- Skills:
- General:
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written.
- Excellent organizing, time management and coordinating skills.
- Good at taking direction and asking questions.
- Ability to articulate and design marketing material.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems (sharp thinker).
- Ability to gather data, compiles information, and prepares reports.
- Maintain Confidentiality, Professionalism and Accuracy at all times.
- Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
- Knowledge of web design.
- Excellent phone etiquette.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- An eagerness to meet and exceed objectives and take on more responsibility.
- Comfortable working with team members at all levels, including senior management.
- Must be fluent in English and 100% proficient in writing and proofreading English grammar flawlessly.
- English fluency required; Spanish Fluency preferred.
- Computer:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).
- Web design, Publisher or Print Shop.
- Extra brownie points for Adobe Photoshop Knowledge.
- Internet savvy, proficient with using the internet as a research tool.
- Required Major / Degree:
- Candidates who are looking to enter sales / marketing as a career are highly encouraged to apply.
- The incumbent of this position must be an undergraduate or graduate level student in Marketing, Communications, Business, Marketing, English, Journalism, Advertising, or Information Technology (IT) or related discipline.
- 1-2 years marketing / sales experience, preferably in a professional services environment and strong knowledge in graphic design required.
- Interest in accounting and taxation a plus.
- Experience at an Internet-related or marketing company also helpful.
- Training:
- Interns attend a one-week training program to become familiar with Consuella’s Accounting & Tax Service policy and procedures. Throughout the internship the intern will receive excellent training and mentoring, build professional networks, while applying skills to real time and actual cases. No sitting around idle or only running errands, you will receive a wealth of experience.
- Duration:
- There are part time and full time internships available. This internship is available January 1st through March 15th or April 18th of each year. We are willing to extend the internship for those candidates that are extremely effective and thorough.
- Compensation Details / Other Benefits:
- There are several intern positions available:
- One (1) paid internship position or academic credit(s) may be offered. This internship pays commission with a base pay commensurate with experience.
- There are Two (2) unpaid internship position for academic credit and experience only. All non paid interns will be reimbursed for transportation and lunch expenses.
- We offer flexible hours during the school year (approximately 15-40 hrs per week).
- Your availability during Evening and Saturday hours are a plus.
