Professional Activities:
Ranjan B. Kini is a Professor of Management Information Systems. He is an active member of Decision Sciences Institute, ACM, AIS, IACIS and APICS. Kini has published papers in many journals including Journal of Manufacturing Systems, Information Systems Management Journal, Journal of Computers and Industrial Engineering , International Journal of Computer Applications in Technology, International Journal of Operations and Production Management, International Journal of Management, and the Journal of Computer Information Systems, Behavior and Information Technology, Journal of Transnational Management Development, International Journal of Mobile Communications. His current research interests include Electronic and Mobile Commerce, Ethics in Information Technology, IS Outsourcing, Strategic Information Systems, the application of IT in manufacturing, and Technology Management. He teaches courses in MIS, Intelligent and Knowledge Systems, Decision Support Systems, Business Telecommunications, and Electronic Business. He teaches in the joint PhD program of Bangkok University, Bangkok, Thailand. He has won Teaching Excellence Recognition Awards, and is recognized as Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. He has received Rotary International’s University Teacher Grant, eLearning Software Grant, Indiana Campus Compact Grant and several IU’s competitive grants. As a Director of LakeNet since its inception, an electronic community net of Northwest Indiana, he played a key role in receiving Access Indiana, Rotary International, and SBC grants. He was recognized as Outstanding Young Men of America (1984) and is listed in several International Who’s Who directories.
