Know Your Rights

An old adage says that "knowledge is power". We wholeheartedly agree.

In order to effectively prevent academic sexual harassment, it is critically important that students fully know and understand their civil rights and consumer rights. Thus, it is imperative that you learn as much as you can about these issues and share what you know with other students, as well as parents.

To help "spread the word" on campus you can

(1) develop training and educational workshops for students

(2) develop and distribute informational brochures, flyers, and posters

(3) submit articles to the student newspaper

(4) arrange for guest speakers to talk about sexual harassment

(5) organize demonstrations or picketing to publicly communicate your message

(6) contact the local media (newspapers, radio, TV) for cooperation in publicizing important issues.

Knowledgeable, well-informed students and parents are essential to preventing sexual harassment on campus.
