LAKE COUNTY PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE (1980-1986)
Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for Juvenile Court Office
Reported to the Chief Deputy of the Prosecutor's Office. Was one of six trial supervisors. Responsible for all aspects of law office management and operations.
Handled 2600 juvenile cases in State's
second largest county. Taught juvenile procedure to area police departments
and mall security officers on regular bimonthly basis.
INDIANA STATE WELFARE DEPARTMENT
General Counsel and Assistant Administrator (1978-1979)
One of four Assistant Administrators reporting
directly to the Administrator of the Welfare Department, an appointed state
official. As first general counsel supervised nine lawyers and two other
divisions in the agency (approximately 300 people). Responsible for $6
Million budget.
Director, Child Support Division ((1976-1978)
One of seven division directors reporting
to the Assistant Administrator of Programs. Responsibilities included program
creation and implementation on a tight time frame to avoid $2 Million penalty.
Managed $1 Million budget with a staff of 106 employees. Professional staff
included lawyers, accountants, system analysts and programmers. Oversaw
the implementation of a $2 Million software procurement to automate state
child support collection. Negotiated with every Indiana County Council
and Prosecuting Attorney to secure their agreement to participate in the
collection system.
Attorney for Public Assistant Division (1975-1976)
In house counsel for the division of public assistance reporting to the Division Director.

Deputy Attorney General (1972-1975)
Litigation counsel for the Department of Corrections, the Department of Public Welfare and Assistant Director of the Consumer Protection Division.
