Beta Beta Beta

Beta Beta Beta is a Biological Honor Society founded in 1922, with 321 active chapters in America. The purpose of the Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society is to function as an honor and professional society for students of the biological sciences. Its activities are designed to stimulate interest and investigation in the biological sciences. The goals of the Xi Iota Chapter at IU Northwest is to recognize outstanding academic achievement in biology and to promote activities that will assist students in gaining opportunities to acquire greater knowledge in biology.

Membership consists of active and associate members. Active members are undergraduates in the biological sciences who have completed two courses beyond L101 with a GPA of 3.0 or greater in Biology who are currently in good academic standing. Associate members are those undergraduates who are interested in the biological sciences but who have not completed enough course-work to be eligible for active membership.

Activities will include national and district conventions, sponsorship of seminars in the biological sciences, encouragement of student research and other activities such as film series and field trips. Meetings are held in the Science Student Resource Room located in Marram Hall Room 330.
