November 2006
On Wednesday, November 8, IU Northwest Redhawks men's basketball team faced local rival Purdue North Central in the annual Salvation Army Kettle Classic at the Hammond Civic Center. This marked the first game for the Redhawks, yet they battled well for forty minutes. Purdue North Central's 13 players outnumbered the 5 Redhawks dressed for IU Northwest, yet IU Northwest lost only by a score of 77-68. Injuries and other technicalities kept a few players sidelined, watching their five teammates play a hard-fought game. Despite the low numbers, IUN pressed and zoned to keep PNC out of their gameplan. Soon the numbers will increase for the Redhawks as their season gets underway quickly with five games in seven days. Friday night IU Northwest travels to Bethel College in South Bend, Indiana for the Bethel Classic. They will play against Marian College ( Indianapolis) Friday at 6:00 p.m. EST and against host Bethel on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. EST. The first homegame for the Redhawks this season is Wednesday November 15th at 7:00 p.m. Good luck Redhawks!
