in the Arts and Sciences
Fifth Annual Indiana University Northwest
Student & Faculty Research Conference
The IU Northwest College of Arts and Sciences will be hosting its fourth annual scholarly research conference on November 12 and 13, 2008. The purpose of the conference is to showcase research and creative activity in the humanities, social and natural sciences by students (graduate and undergraduate) and faculty. Students and faculty are invited to submit abstracts of up to 250 words on a topic of their choice for papers, posters, or artistic presentations. Pre-organized panels will be considered. Undergraduate student papers must be overseen by a faculty liaison that will provide appropriate mentoring and ensure that the papers meet disciplinary standards of excellence. Formal presentations may not exceed 15-20
minutes. All abstracts must pass the external review process for acceptance.
Abstracts should contain the following information:
- Full name and title of the presenter
- Title of presentation
- School and department affiliation
- Name of faculty sponsor, if applicable
- Phone number
- E-mail address
- Equipment or supply requests
- Agreement to read paper in 15 to 20 minutes
- Definitive abstract of between 200 and 250 words
