I am happy to report that IUN Anthropology Instructor Dr Clarke Johnson

is now recuperating at his home in Kankakee, Illinois, after spending two

full weeks in the hospital since the day he collapsed on campus. He is in

good spirits and hopes to return to see his students at the finals, and then

resume teaching next semester. He said he would welcome brief

telephone calls; the number is: 1-815-939-4242.

The scholarship applications are now available; I have attached the

application as a generic wordprocessor file; let me know if you have any

trouble opening or printing it. Copies are also available in my office.

Deadline is Dec 3, 2001.

Angelina Mendoza has organized a special tour of the Cleopatra exhibit at

the Field Museum in Chicago on Sat Dec 13; meet at 9:30 am at the South main

door. The club will pay for the special admission, but you are responsible

for parking ($8 per car at the Soldier Field lot). Email her to make your

reservation, as tour is limited to 15. This is for students past and

present, no families please. We don't want to have any no-shows, so if you

make a reservation and cannot make it, let Angelina know so she can give

that space to someone else. amendoza@fmnh.org
