ANTHROPOLOGY CLUB NEWS FALL 1994
Welcome back anthropology students!!
I have gotten a lot of messages already asking when we are all going to get together again, and since there seems to be no consensus on when we should meet, I have arbitrarily scheduled some events for the next two months (we only have postage for one mailing every two months). Come to the meetings to help determine the future schedules.
Sunday Sept 18 LINCOLN PARK ZOO TRIP. Meet at the "new" primate house anytime between one and three o'clock; at three we'll go to the Great Ape House, and then have a pasta dinner at my house at six (get directions at the zoo). The zoo is at Fullerton ave and the lakefront in chicago, about three miles north of the loop; take I-94 to I-55 north to Lake Shore Drive North. The zoo is free; parking costs $3.
Tuesday Sept 27 4:00 pm FIRST REGULAR MEETING Marram 330. Elect new officers, schedule meetings, organize book sale, consider guest speakers, volunteer for above or to tutor.
Friday Oct 7 5-7 pm Discussion group Marram 321. You bring a topic, we'll all discuss it: evolution; religion and anthropology; world problems; whatever.
Monday Oct 17 4:00 SECOND REGULAR MEETING Marram 321.
By the way, our two new anthropology courses this semester are a great success; 18 students signed up for Ms Wallander's "Walking with the great apes" course, and Dr Johnson's Medical Anthropology course filled at 30!.
