Anthropology Club Minutes for November 10, 2004

As of September 30, 2004:

Club account: 6850.76

Petty Cash: 1402.86

Total: 8353.62

This includes income from the last day of book sale, which was added to petty cash but does not include the proceeds from the other four days of the book sale, which will show up on Register report for October (about $2,200).

Book sale proceeds were approximately $2,500. This is about $500 less than previous sale, but we did not have large stock from bookstore to sell to the gentleman who has, in the past, bought many of those books.

Items Discussed

• We reviewed presentations scheduled for upcoming COAS Research Conference
• Future of scholarship funds. Suggestion to look into funding an annuity that would fund scholarships in perpetuity. Dave mentioned it was something that was once available through IU. Check it out with Student Life?
• Is it possible to identify Club members and other students with high interest in Anthropology. This could create a “short list” to contact regarding upcoming events/opportunities i.e. special invitations/reminders.
• Create master “Wish List” (with prices) for Department. Expedite decision making regarding purchases, club fund allocations. Update annually? Each Semester?
