General Information

The Division of Continuing Studies has developed a series of non-credit courses that are educational and fun for any adult learner. Graduation from high school, college, or admission to the university is not required.

Registration Information

The Taxpayer Relief Act of 1997 offers tax credits for qualified education expenses. For answers to personal income tax questions, please contact a tax advisor or the IRS at (800) 829-1040.

Confirmation

When registrations are received they are recorded on the class list. When the minimum numbers of students are enrolled in a class, confirmations are sent out. This is usually done about 5-7 days before a class is scheduled to begin. Early registration helps us serve you better, please sign up early.

Policies

  • Canceled, filled, or withdrawal 48 business hours before class - full refund (Exception: no CNA refunds)
  • Withdrawal within 48 hours of class – credit toward another class (Exception: no CNA refunds)
  • Withdrawal after class meets - no refund

All refunds are made by check and may take up to 30 days. IU Northwest reserves the right to cancel a course if low enrollment or other contingencies prevail. IU Northwest is not liable for any services or products the student contracts with the instructor.

Campus Parking Permits

If you are parking on campus, please order a parking permit and include your date of birth.  Only one permit can be issued per semester.  Be sure to save your permit if you are taking more than one class. 

Indiana University Credit Union Membership

The Indiana University Credit Union has extended an invitation for membership to students in the adult education program. The credit union offers a full range of financial services: savings/checking accounts, consumer/mortgage loan products, and an ATM on campus. To become a member, you need to make an initial deposit of $25 to a savings account. Call the Credit Union for complete information at 219-980-6850.
