Welcome to the IU Northwest Assessment Center Rater Training Website! A good objective of leadership is to help those who are doing poorly to do well I was never worried about finding leaders of our business community to help us make the Indiana University Northwest Assessment Center a success. I knew that the business leaders of Northwest Indiana and beyond would rise to the occasion and support our noble cause of better preparing our students for the workplace. I was not disappointed. Countless businesses and individuals have stepped forward to be a part of this program. The above quote by Jim Rohn is perfect for this training program because it exemplifies exactly what you have agreed to do: help our students do better. Words cannot convey how much I appreciate your commitment to the Assessment Center. There is no substitute for the feedback you are going to provide our students. Your feedback will allow our students to know exactly where they stand on the twelve competencies that we are assessing and will give them the opportunity to improve those skills throughout their course of studies at Indiana University Northwest. So, before you begin reviewing this material, pat yourself on the back! You are doing a wonderful thing! Before you begin rating students, I need you to complete our Rater Training Program. This training program will explain the assessment center methodology and how to observe student behaviors. It will also provide an overview of the exercise you are rating and instructions on how to do so. The training program contains extremely important information. Because the quality of the Assessment Center feedback depends upon the quality of our raters, I ask that you please review this information carefully. If at any time you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Again, thank you for making a commitment to help our students! Sincerely, Jana Szostek, Director Begin training program |
