Hello, Redhawks!

My name is John Strickland, and I’m an Academic Advisor for the Student Advising Center at IU-Northwest. I’m new to the Northwest Indiana area, having recently moved here from Pensacola, Florida, where I worked for the University of West Florida as a coordinator for their student housing office. UWF is also where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, as well as my Master’s Degree in College Student Personnel Administration.

I’m really excited to work at IU Northwest, an institution that is dedicated to providing a diverse and passionate student body with the opportunities and resources to succeed as college students and beyond. I’m even more excited to work with YOU, the students of IU-Northwest!

In my free-time, I’m hanging out with my partner, Michelle, and our cat, Emma. I also play guitar, collect vinyl records, and I love to watch professional wrestling.
