Resources for Community Members

In addition to providing quality degree programs in Northwest Indiana , our campus is a cultural and intellectual resource open to local residents. Here are a few of the campus programs, activities, and resources that might interest you.

Art Galleries—visit one of the two art galleries located on campus.

Athletics—come out and watch our RedHawk athletic teams compete in men's and women's basketball, men's and women's golf, men's baseball, and women's volleyball.

Diversity Programming, Office of — campus and community resource for diversity and equity issues.

Events Calendar—check out what's happening on campus with a special Community calendar. Look at IU Northwest's additional calendars for other events at the Savannah Center, and with RedHawk athletics.

Fitness Center—take advantage of the gymnasium, fitness/wellness room, locker rooms, indoor track, and dance/aerobics areas located in the Savannah Center. Membership is reasonably priced for community members.

Human Resources—learn why IU Northwest is a major employer in the Northwest Indiana region.

Kids College—enroll your children in this summer program for children ages 7 through 16. We offer more than 60 classes and students get to write television commercials, go on archeological digs, and make scientific slime.

Library—take advantage of the IU Northwest Library, which, like all IU libraries, is open to all Indiana citizens.

Noncredit Classes—enroll in classes like basic computing, Web design, and Spanish for adults. We also offer fun and educational children's classes and summer programs.

Theatre Northwest—enjoy performances and participate in our campus productions.

WIUN - Streamed Radio—This station is for and about  our campus and the communities which IU Northwest serves -- which is why we are now recruiting students, staff, and members of neighboring communities to contribute news, programs and announcements. In addition, we are looking for local talent to contribute original music, as well as talk program guests.
