Meet our student champions:
Danielle "Dee" Dotson
"Leadership is service, not position."
This is the refrain that student Danielle "Dee" Dotson lives by daily. She began her academic career at Indiana University Northwest as an adult learner in the fall of 2012 with a mission to earn a degree in Business Administration. After two years of searching for the area of concentration that best fit her love for writing and organizing events, she found herself enrolling in communications classes and stumbled upon her love for public relations. Dee will conclude her academic career at IU Northwest this December, anticipating degrees in both Business Administration as well as Communications. While at IU Northwest, Dee has established herself as a student leader through her volunteer experiences with several student groups and organizations including the Student Government Association, Student Activities Board and Public Relations Association of America. Dee was also a founding member of the first-ever student-run on-campus food pantry. She is also a dedicated wife and mother to five wonderful children.
Gabriela Jaimes is a junior at Indiana University Northwest with majors in Chemistry and Spanish and a minor in Biology with a dream of one day becoming an anesthesiologist. When she is not studying, she is active in student organizations, including serving as president of Student Ambassadors, senator for the Student Government Association, member of the Student Alumni Association, member of the Student Activities Board, member of WAVE (Women Against Violence and Exploitation), member of the Pre-Professionals Studies Club, and this year she is excited to add student member of One Book, One Campus, One Community Committee. Gabriela has a passion to educate and has enjoyed being a teacher's assistant for Anatomy & Physiology for the past year and a half. For fun, she loves to travel, explore the city, and shop!
