Linda Delunas Professor and Director School of Nursing

Welcome to the IU Northwest School of Nursing home page!  I am Director of the School of Nursing and Associate Dean of the College of Health and Human Services. Many exciting things are occurring in the School. First, our graduates’ NCLEX-RN licensure examination scores continue to rank among the highest in the state thanks to the hard work of both students and faculty. Next, the School is pleased to have been able recently to purchase multiple mid- and high-fidelity human simulator mannequins so that students can practice advanced skills in a low risk environment. Interprofessional education (IPE), where teams of students from professions such as Nursing, Medicine, and Social Work work together in health care teams, remains a priority. Being part of the larger College of Health and Human Services affords us the opportunity to expand our IPE experiences.  Lastly, three of our nursing students were able to take part in an international experience this summer when they traveled with a group of students from other IU campuses to China, where they were able to study aspects of that country’s health care delivery system.

As I begin my tenure as Director, I look forward to continuing to move the School forward in terms of visibility and reputation. One of my highest priorities is to strengthen partnerships with our area health care agencies so that together we can more effectively impact the health of our community. Again, welcome to the IU Northwest School of Nursing, and please browse our pages to learn more about us!
