21st Century Junior JumpStart Workshop scheduled for June 3

Incoming high school seniors will learn tips for success

Indiana University Northwest will host a workshop for 21st Century Scholars from 5:15 to 8 p.m., Friday, June 3, in the Bruce W. Bergland Auditorium, located in the Savannah Center.

The 21st Century Junior JumpStart Workshop is an opportunity for upcoming high school seniors to get a jump start on their senior year and successfully complete their Scholar Success Program (SSP). Completing the SSP and tracking success through ScholarTrack is mandatory in order to receive a 21st Century Scholarship.

At the event, advisors will be on hand to provide scholars with information and resources to help them understand their 21st Century Scholarship and achieve success. High school students will have an opportunity to tour the campus and learn about the process of becoming admitted to IU Northwest.

The workshop will cover such topics as:

 -       Meeting 21st Century Scholar Program requirements

-       Completing and submitting SSP requirements

-       Income eligibility guidelines

-       Learning about careers and career-ready websites

-       Understanding financial aid

-       Maintaining scholarship eligibility in college

-       The college application process

-       Tips for college success

High school students may register for the event through Eventbrite.

IU Northwest offers a wide range of academic programs and disciplines for Northwest Indiana students wishing to earn their Indiana University degrees close to home. IU Northwest’s academic units include the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Health and Human Services, the School of Business and Economics, and the School of Education.
