Great Lakes Innovative Stewardship Through Education Network
Who We Are
The Calumet cluster of GLISTEN is a collaborative effort by local colleges, universities and environmental community partners to engage students in direct-action efforts to preserve and restore the environmental health of the Lake Michigan watershed.
What We Do
The GLISTEN model focuses on the following goals:
(1) to provide individual undergraduate students (student stewardship liaisons) with opportuntities for science-based summer research projects developed with community partners that enhance the knowledge and skills,
(2) to develop undergraduate courses and course components that contextualize the projects and learning experiences within the regional environmental efforts of Northwest Indiana.
