The career options are endless for dental hygienists and dental assistants. While it is true most work in private practice helping patients prevent dental disease, there are many employed in community health settings, education, research, sales, marketing, product development, public advocacy, among other career paths. Some of these alternate career paths may require an advanced degree.

Nationally, the job outlook for dentistry is continuing to grow. The U.S. News and World Report ranks the Best Jobs List (2015) with Dentist as #1 and Dental Hygienist as #4.
