Juanita Robinson director

Welcome to the Dental Education Department website.

I am Juanita Robinson Program Director for the Dental Education Department at IU Northwest.  Our department has four full-time faculty appointments and numerous adjunct faculty members who bring years of experience to the classroom from their time spent in private dental offices and educational institutions.  The campus offers a fully equipped dental clinic with 16 dental stations, six radiology cubicles and two darkrooms.  Class size is limited for the programs offered.  Academic excellence is strongly encouraged for admittance.

The Dental Education Department currently offers a Certificate in Dental Assisting and an Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene.  Continuing education courses for dental assistants (Radiology for Dental Assistants in the Community; also Caries Prevention and Coronal Polishing) and for dental hygienists (Local Anesthesia and Pain Control) are also offered periodically throughout the semesters.  Plans for the future include a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene (entry level) and a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene completion degree.  When the Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene is commences the Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene will no longer be offered.

Thank you for your interest in the programs offered at IU Northwest
