Become A Rater
Would you like to become an Assessment Center Rater?
The Indiana University Northwest Assessment Center calls upon experienced business people to observe student performance and provide feedback on specific skills. We enlist the help of those with executive, managerial, human resources, or employee recruitment experience.
As a Rater, you will watch videotapes or read Word files created by students involved in a work-related role play. You will take notes of their behavior and then complete a structured assessment instrument. All of this is done online so you can complete the evaluations at your convenience. Although most Raters will assess around 20 students per semester, with each assessment taking around 30-45 minutes, how many students you assess is entirely up to you and your availability. You will complete an online training program before you begin assessing students.
We provide the student a feedback report containing comments from all of the Raters who assessed that student. We also use Rater scores for research purposes. Because we will be obtaining research information from you, federal law requires you to sign an Informed Consent Statement prior to participating in the Assessment Center. If you would like to become a Rater, please read the following consent form, complete the required fields, and submit this form. An Assessment Center staff member will contact you.
