The Center for Urban and Regional Excellence has developed a series of non-credit courses that are educational and fun for adults. Graduation from high school and admission to the university is not required. However, you must be 18 years of age. Just sign up on line and you are ready to go!
All registrations are done on line at www.iun.edu/adulteducation The preferred way to pay is with a credit or debit card. You can pay with a personal check if your fees are $250 or less. A cashier’s check or money order is needed if the fees are over $250. However, payment by check must be sent to a lockbox at least 14 days before the class begins. This allows time for mail delivery and to be counted in the minimum enrollment count for the class. If you miss the target date, please call Sandra at 219-980-6978.
No registrations can be made in the office.
After you enroll on line, a confirmation page will appear, so be prepared to print it. If you enrolled with a credit card, your name will be placed on the class list immediately. If you are sending a check, make two copies of your confirmation page. Send one copy with your check to the address which will be on the confirmation page. Keep the other copy for your records. When the check is received at the lock box, your name will be placed on the class list. Again, payment by check must be sent to a lockbox at least 14 days before the class begins. There will be a $15 processing fee plus 3% of the registration fee assessed for all student requested refunds. Enrollments which are paid by check will be refunded in the form of a check and may take up to 30 days. Credit and debit card charges will be reversed on the card used in the transaction. Your parking permit must be returned before a refund is issued.
Withdrawal 48 business hours before class - refund less a $15 processing fee plus 3% of the registration fee (Exception: No Certified Nursing Assistant refunds)
Withdrawal within 48 hours of class – credit toward another class during the same semester (Exception: No Certified Nursing Assistant refunds)
Withdrawal after class meets - no refund
IUN reserves the right to cancel a course if low enrollment or other contingencies prevail. Refund fees will not be assessed if the class is canceled by IUN. IUN is not liable for any services or products the student contracts with the instructor.
CAMPUS PARKING PERMITS
You must include your date of birth for a parking permit to be issued. Only one permit can be issued per semester. Be sure to save your permit if you are taking more than one class. If you need a handicap permit, you must submit at least a week in advance a copy of your registration which indicates a handicap status. Classes meeting off campus and on Saturday will not include a permit.
When paid registrations are received student names are recorded on the class list. When the minimum number of students is enrolled in a class, confirmation letters are sent either as an email or postal mail. This is usually done about 5-7 days before a class is scheduled to begin. You are encouraged to be an early bird by signing up for a class with the discount rate. It helps our staff be more efficient and send out letters earlier.

Indiana University Credit Union Membership
The Indiana University Credit Union has extended an invitation for membership to students in the adult education program. The credit union offers a full range of financial services: savings/checking accounts, consumer/mortgage loan products, and an ATM on campus.
