My student activities

I am a Student Ambassador, and member of the Student Alumni Association, and the National Society of Leadership and Success.

Why I chose IU Northwest

I realized that I would get the same, quality education here. I pay less money to get the same experiences that I would if I had gone off to school. Living at home allows me to save money, and afford other things, like professional clothes for my field study, books for recreational reading, and the occasional splurge.

What I like most about being a RedHawk

The sense of community. Walking across campus, I always run into at least three people that I know. My professors are always there for me, and I can get the one-on-one help that I need. Their office doors are always open. I found that you can have the same experience that you would have at a larger campus, but you have to think positively and be willing to put yourselves out there.

My future plans

After graduation, I intend to work four or five years, and come back to IU Northwest for my master’s degree. I may even obtain my master’s in educational leadership one day. My ultimate goal, as of now, is to become superintendent of the Gary Community School Corporation.
