Transfer Scholarships

For Indiana residents only, the number of awards is limited to four in each category.  Qualifications must be acheived by the July 1 deadline.  Early applicants meeting all of the qualifying scholarship criteria at the time of application may receive priority.  In order to be considered for a scholarship, all qualified applicants must complete a Transfer Scholarship Interest Form. (Note* Completing this form is not a guarantee of award.  The following awards are only for students transferring from another regionally accredited institution. Students who have previously attended any IU campus are not eligible.)

  • Full Time - $6000 two year award ($3000 per academic year split by term)

    Part Time - $3000 two year award ($1500 per academic year split by term)

    Criteria: Associate's degree earned at Ivy Tech Community College, with a cumulative 3.0 GPA, with an IUN bachelor’s degree objective. Admitted and registered at IU Northwest by July 1, for fall semester. 6-11 credit hours part time and 12 or more full time.  Additional transfer scholarship interest form required.

    Continuing and Second Year Renewal Requirements: 12 or more credit hours per fall and spring term (24 total for year) for full time awards, or 6-11 credit hours per term (12 total for year) for part time awards.  Maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA, and submit written renewal request by July 1.

  • Full time $6000 two-year award ($3000 per academic year split by term)

    Part time $3000 two-year award ($1500 per academic year split by term)

    Criteria: Must have completed 26 or more hours at a regionally accredited institution with a 3.5 cumulative GPA and with an IUN bachelor’s degree objective.  Admitted and registered for fall semester at IU Northwest by July 1.  Additional transfer scholarship interest form required.

    Continuing and Second Year Renewal Requirements: Must enroll in 12 or more credit hours per term (24 total for the year) for full time awards, or 6-11 credit hours per fall and spring term (12 total for year) for part time awards, maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA, and submit a written renewal request by July 1.

  • Full time $4000 two-year award ($2000 per academic year split by term)

    Part time $2000 two-year award ($1000 per academic year split by term)

    Criteria:  Must have completed 26 or more hours at a regionally accredited institution with a 3.0 cumulative GPA and with an IUN bachelor’s degree objective.  Admitted and registered for fall semester at IU Northwest by July 1.  Additional transfer scholarship interst form required.

    Continuing and Second Year Renewal Requirements: Must enroll in 12 or more credit hours per term (24 total for the year) for full time awards, or 6-11 credit hours per fall and spring term (12 total for year) for part time awards, maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA, and submit a written renewal request by July 1.

  • Full-Time - Up to $10,000 two-year award (per academic year based on resident rates)

    Criteria:  Associates degree, 3.0 cumulative GPA.  For students interested in pursuing a B.S. in biology, chemistry, geology, computer information systems (CIS), actuarial science or mathematics.  Additional application materials required. Other Transfer Scholarships Available

National Science Foundation Scholarship

(Deadline: March 1) This scholarship is to be awarded to students who are academically qualified, demonstrate financial need, and are interested in pursuing a B.S. in biology, chemistry, geology, computer information systems (CIS), actuarial science, or mathematics full-time at IU Northwest. The scholarship will award up to $10,000 per year for two years, covering the cost of tuition and living expenses, based on Indiana resident tuition rates. Associate degree holders with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 are eligible to apply.

William and Pamela Lowe Transfer Scholarship

Recipients of this renewable scholarship will be transfer students who have received an A.A. or A.S. degree from another school, in good academic standing as defined as a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Special consideration will be given to underrepresented populations, including but not limited to financially challenged students, and/or students with diverse cultural experiences. The number of recipients and amount of the award will determined by an IU Northwest scholarship committee.

Ivy Tech Community College Transfer Scholarship

One scholarship is offered per year to a current Ivy Tech student who will be completing an associate degree in the spring and intends to earn a bachelor’s degree at IU Northwest. The scholarship covers tuition for the upcoming academic year (fall and spring terms) and is renewable for one additional year, providing the recipient is full time and maintains a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
