What does that mean for you? The average undergraduate tuition and fees for an out-of-state full time student is about $19,037* per academic year. • The Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP) is a multi-state tuition reciprocity program. Through the MSEP, participating institutions agree to charge students no more than 150% of the in-state resident tuition rate for specific programs. All enrollment decisions are made at the discretion of the receiving campus and the campus may exercise its right to limit participation or set specific admission requirements for MSEP. For more information CLICK HERE.

  • MSEP is available for undergraduate degree programs within the College of Arts & Sciences, School of Education, School of Business, and the College of Health and Human Services. MSEP is available for the RN to BSN online degree program ONLY.  ALL other online degree programs are EXCLUDED.

  • Yes. Participation in the MSEP is available to both full-time and part-time degree seeking students.

  • You don’t have to apply for this program.  Undergraduate students that have legal residents in the participating states will see the MSEP award on their account after registering for classes.

The MSEP award will expire after four years of undergraduate study or upon earning an undergraduate degree; whichever occurs first.  MSEP benefits will be applied to tuition only.  MSEP and Financial Aid can both be applied.  When combined, the award cannot exceed the total cost of attendance.  MSEP participants are responsible for all other fees assessed upon enrollment.  MSEP participants will be responsible for all fees associated with attendance at IU Northwest.  MSEP participants are not eligible for freshman and transfer scholarships.  MSEP will continue to be awarded as long as he/she remains a non-resident and remains eligible to enroll in the degree program.
