- Login to ERIS if your professor is making copyright information available through the web.

- Connect on campus to IU Northwest's wireless network using IU Secure.
- Obtain free software from iuware.iu.edu
- Obtain Adobe Products, Microsoft products, Antivirus, and other software.
- Obtain Identity Finder which is a tool to help prevent identity theft for personal information stored on your computer, file shares or external media. (faculty & staff need technology accounts to obtain Identity Finder home edition)
- Get answers to your IU questions from AskIU. You can send your questions by email, SMS text from your mobile device, or Unicom IM to . AskIU is available Monday through Friday 8am-11:30pm, and Saturday and Sunday 10am-6:30pm.
- Get help from the IU Northwest IT Support Center - visit the Support Center in Hawthorn Hall 108, call the support center at 219-981-4357, or e-mail the IU northwest Support Center at

- Today's Class Cancellations. (Cell phone friendly) Make it a favorite on your cell phone.
- See IU Northwest Events for Today's Events, Today's Student Events, Today's Athletics, Today's Athletic Practices, and Upcoming IU Northwest Events items that are listed on the IU Northwest home page in the "Events at IU Northwest" area.
- IU Northwest News shows upcoming IU Northwest News items that are listed on the IU Northwest home page in the "News at IU Northwest" area.
- Search IU (Boopsie): This mobile search tool lets you search IU libraries; you can also search Wikipedia. (coming soon).
- Use the UITS IT Help Podcast feature which gives tips on using the technology resources available at Indiana University. Topics include help for common computing difficulties, information about software and hardware, and updates on keeping your computer secure. Students, faculty and staff will learn how to get the most out of the IU computing experience. Read show notes at IT Help Podcast Blog.
- Use IU Vault to secured file upload / download student-specific or institutional data. The documents are encrypted using a secret word that you or your guest user specify. If secured file transfer is not needed, use Slashtmp to transfer files.

- VPN connection is needed to connect for "IU" systems or mapping a drive. Connect to vpn.iu.edu. Remember to close this connection when finished using it.
- Map to your office server drives. Right-click on my computer and select map network drive
- For your network Home Drive - Select the drive letter H: and type \\nw-it-fs-08\home\username\ Connect using a different username with username=ads.iu.edu\your_username and your passphrase.
- For your network Department Drive - Select the drive letter S: and type \\nw-it-fs-08\Departments\ Connect using a different username with username=ads.iu.edu\your_username and your passphrase.
