What is SPIRITS?
SPIRITS is the art and the literary journal of Indiana University Northwest. The content includes creative essays, paintings, photography, poetry, short fiction, and sketches.
Where can I get a copy of SPIRITS?
Get a free copy of SPIRITS from campus newsstands. SPIRITS may also be purchased from the campus bookstore and at various fine area retail bookshops. Proceeds help SPIRITS continue to promote art and literature.
SPIRITS Mission Statement
The goal of SPIRITS is to publish art and literary content from the communities of Indiana University Northwest, of Northwest Indiana, and of the greater Indiana University community to edify readers and viewers.
Who may participate in the creation of SPIRITS?
All are welcome! Contact SPIRITS to join at spirits@iun.edu.
When does the editorial board meet?
Meetings are decided upon through e-mail by the faculty advisor, the editor, and the editorial board.
May I submit my work for publication?
Yes! All artwork and literary submissions are welcome. Include a short biography. All submissions must be sent by e-mail to SPIRITS. All those whose submissions are accepted will be notified by e-mail.
What may be submitted?
Send poems in .doc format, up to six per person; essays and short fiction in .doc format, no more than 2,500 words; and up to six artworks in .jpg, .tif, and .eps format.
